New Holland SB65 Grape Harvesters

New Holland SB65 Grape Harvesters This latest model includes larger capacity soft buckets capable of handling very large crops with little or no spillage. Full floating head for less post and vine damage. Spring loaded bucket frame to allow machine to open up over posts up to 450mm diameter. Hydraulic head adjustment, front and rear posts move together, positive hydraulic lock. Exceptional cleaning capacity w/-all four fans working through drop zones. Picking head adjustments available are, picking width, three different stroke settings and the bow in the rods are all variable to suit different picking conditions. Low picking head speeds, longer picking rods, floating head and soft buckets all contribute to less vine and trellis damage.

The New Holland BRAUD SB65 is a very robust, well-engineered low maintenance, reliable grape harvester.

High Capacity Harvesting System

The unique Braud S.D.C. system allows you to harvest with maximum output, while avoiding damage to the vineyard and safeguarding the quality of the harvested grapes. The shakers of the S.D.C. system are produced in a very flexible material and bent into an arc. The ends of the shakers are fixed both sides and are maintained at a constant distance from the centre of the machine. This creates a harvesting tunnel with a wide intake area, narrowing towards the centre where the actual shaking takes place and then creating an opening again at the rear of the machine. A drive mechanism varies the curves of the shakers in an alternating cycle to ensure that one shaker reaches its maximum curvature when the other is in its straightest position.

A novelty in the S.D.C. system is that you now have 3 possible settings to alter the amount of lateral movement of the shakers, and hence the effectiveness of the shaker system.
The distance between the shakers can also be adapted, with a consequent reduction in the number of shakers required in the given fruit-bearing zone. This reduces the number of impacts to which the vine is subjected and thus the risk of damage during the harvesting. The new shaker tubes now have a hollow structure - a Braud patent - which means that shaker speed can be increased without risk of breaking them. Each of the long, flexible shakers can bend independently thanks to the new system of flexible mounting at the rear. This ensures that every shaker adapts perfectly to the plant size. So it is the shape of the plant itself that determines the shaker position, guaranteeing that the vegetation remains undamaged. New Holland grape harvester

The funnelled shape of the shaking area channels the vegetation into the machine gradually, keeping it in permanent contact with the shakers in the processing area and gradually freeing the vines as the machine moves forward. This special shape eliminates all risk of damage to the plants. The shakers are virtually parallel in the centre, forming a longer processing area which allows for a significant increase in machine travel speed with lower frequency and thus fewer shaking pulses.

Unique Basket Collection System

The unique basket collection system consists of two conveyors, each with 62 soft baskets in food-quality polyurethane. This feature allows you to increase your working speed. The system runs directly on stainless steel rails at a rate inversely proportional to the machine's travel speed. This ensures that the baskets remain stationary in relation to the ground surface, passing around the bottom of the vinestock without rubbing. Perfect pick up without any spilling of grapes is ensured. The baskets provide problem-free collection of bunches of grapes just 15 cm above ground level, irrespective of bunch size. The new shape at the end of the basket tunnel avoids crop build up and ensures smooth transport of the grapes to the tanks. Cleaning takes place in first instance by the two bottom fans, located on each side of the harvesting tunnel.

The bottom fans, standard on the SB64 and optional on the SB62 and the SB60, provide a cleaning process before the leaves even come into contact with the grapes.
In the top section, 2 more fans complete the cleaning process, removing any remaining leaves from the grapes before they are dropped into the tanks. The width of the conveyor belt has been increased by 15 cm to ensure better distribution of the crop and thus better cleaning through the top fans. The top fans, standard on the three models, have a bigger diameter ensuring highly efficient cleaning. They are positioned on a chute and the difference in gravity between leaves and grapes further enhances this process. All fans are equipped with shoot choppers.

You can select the optimum tank size to perfectly match your type of vineyard. Tank sizes have been increased and are available in the following options: 1050, 1300 and 1600 litres, bringing your maximum tank capacity up to 3200 litres. All tanks are produced in thicker stainless steel plates that have been specially treated for a better finish. A new welding process allows for seamless welding so that no grapes or juice can stick in the seams and start premature fermentation.

The Grape Harvester for all Terrains

The new range of Braud grape harvesters is equipped with a transverse levelling system which will compensate for slopes up to 30%. Increased stability is ensured by the fact that the front wheel cylinders are directly linked and for security a safety valve is operated when needed. Minimum working height can be pre-set and the ground clearance beneath the chassis can be varied over 600 mm by means of a hydraulic system controlled from the operator's platform.

The front wheel steering lock is 90 degrees. The wide wheel base, the transverse levelling system and the optimum weight distribution provide optimum stability and maximum security, even on undulating terrain.

Removing the harvesting unit is quick and easy. Thanks to the transverse levelling system, the machine automatically places the harvesting unit on the ground after disconnecting the hydraulics.

Transverse levelling system compensates for slopes up to 30% The Saphir range grape harvesters are fitted with a heavy-duty hydrostatic transmission with a hydraulic pump powered directly by the main engine. The unique Anti-Skid system eliminates the risk of wheel slippage. If the front wheel would tend to spin, the pressure in the return line of the hydraulic oil to the rear wheel will increase, thus increasing the speed of the rear wheel matching automatically the speed between the front and rear wheel to avoid wheel spin. The direct connection in the hydraulic circuit between the front and rear wheels allows for this effect.

The rear wheels are equipped with multi-disc brakes in an oil-bath for safe operation. For road traffic, just punch one button and you automatically switch to 2-wheel drive. All models are equipped with 6-cylinder turbo-charged Iveco engines. The one on the SB64 delivers 110kW (150hp) whereas the one on the SB62 and SB60 produces 96 kW (130 hp). These engines give you all the power you need for the most demanding harvesting conditions.

Ergonimic Instrumentation Ensures Fingertip Control

Braud introduces a new generation of cabs on the Saphir range, designed to deliver maximum comfort and ultimate operator control. The cab is standard on the SB64 and the SB62, and available as an option on the SB60. Large areas of curved glass ensure optimum visibility on the front of the harvesting head and the intake area. Adjustable steering column and adjustable seat - optional air-suspension seat - allow you to set your working environment to your specific size and weight. Standard air-conditioning and heating ensure full comfort in any weather conditions.

The new cab is mounted on silent blocks reducing noise levels to only 82 dBA. Access to the cab is easy and a patented system allows you to fold up the ladder and access platform from your seat.

All the instrumentation has been ergonomically laid out, in priority sequence, so that all buttons are easy to reach and easy to see. The Multi-control lever puts the main functions at your fingertips: sideways and longitudinal levelling of the machine, engagement of the harvesting unit and the speed setting for the shaker system.

The computer monitor controls all the harvesting and safety functions, including all the settings for the harvesting unit. An emergency stop button blocks all hydraulic and electrical functions and the engine in case a problem occurs. An LCD display keeps you informed about the amount of levelling of your machine.

This new cab will ensure added safety for the operator eg. when spraying the vineyard. An active carbon filter is optionally available to remove chemicals. There is even pre-wiring for radio and CB.

Fingertip hydrostatic steering provides quick and accurate control of your grape harvester, even on rough ground. All this is why we can truly say that the new Braud cab offers you the ultimate in operator comfort and control.
