New Holland Series TND & TNS Tractors
New Holland is established
as a leading manufacturer of premier quality products. This leadership
has been achieved by ensuring all New Holland products are designed, engineered
and manufactured to the highest standards.
Small Tractors Engineered for Demanding Customers
New Holland TND and TNS have been designed to meet the needs of
those who demand high performance from a small tractor. A good power to
weight ratio, high specification and rugged built are established basics
for all New Holland tractors. The TND and TNS series built on this
by not only offering tremendous power in a compact package but also a
wide choice of specifications.
A TND or TNS series tractor can be built to satisfy a wide range
of customer applications. TND models are offered in both two and
four wheel drive. The TNS series share the same basic features
as the TND four wheel drive models but are equipped with the unique
New Holland SuperSteer Front Axle as standard. This axle enables
the highly maneuverable TNS tractor to turn tighter, without brakes,
than many two wheel drive models. Automatic four wheel drive management
is another standard feature of the TNS models.
Advanced and innovative, the TND and TNS Series feature:
- High power to weight ratio
- Electronic indication of engine, tractor and PTO speeds
- New Holland FlexionBar draft sensing
- Colour coded controls
- Lift-O-matic control
This high specification can be enhanced to include:
- Electronic Draft Control
- Dual Command transmission with Power shuttle
- MegaFlow high capacity hydraulic circuit
- Air suspension seat
- Air conditioning
- Four speed PTO-540, 540E, 1000 and Ground Speed
- Four remote auxiliary valves TNS models built upon these features
by offering New Holland's unique SuperSteer front axle and automatic
four wheel drive management system. Both features help to make them
arguably, the most advanced tractors in their class.
New Holland the Power to Perform
TND and TNS tractors are powered by rugged three-cylinder lveco
8000 series engines. Specifically tuned and developed to produce maximum
power at a low rated speed of 2,300 rpm, these engines are quiet, smooth
running and fuel-efficient. Their lower running speed also helps to reduce
wear.
Their engines are fully emissionised to meet current and known future
emission standards worldwide. This has been achieved by maximising engine
efficiency. Fuel consumption, in relation to power, output and torque
production, is optimised by using an advanced combustion chamber design
and a high perforance fuel injection system. In operation, however it
is the performance operators will appreciate. Torque rise is up to 36%
on the TH75D and TN75S models. This outstanding characteristic
is matched to low specific fuel consumption across the range of engine
speeds. Running costs are reduced without compromising productivity.
Vibration levels are exceptionally low. Noise levels are also well contained,
with the muffler mounted under the engine hood. TND and TNS tractors
are exceptionally smooth and quiet running.
As with all Hew Holland products, the engine is designed to offer rugged
reliability. Extended oil change intervals combined with simple routine
maintenance to ensure performance and reliability are sustainable over
extended operating periods.
Advanced Performance for Greater Productivity
By offering aTND or TNS tractor with a 32 forward, 16 reverse speed
Dual Command and Power Shuttle transmission, New Holland is able to meet
the needs of the most demanding customers. Dual Command Transmission provides
two Powershift speeds in each forward gear. This enables the operator
to change speed within the selected gear under full load. Such an advanced
feature is usually reserved for larger tractors and is proven to increase
productivity and versatility in a broad range of applications.
The Powershift can be used to reduce forward speed by 18% and increase
torque by 27%. This is a useful feature in applications where conditions
are variable allowing the operator to quickly reduce speed and increase
torque without changing gear or losing traction. Dual Command Transmission
is linked to a Power Shuttle. This enables direction changes to be made
quickly with forward and reversed speeds being matched. The system modulates
power engagement to smooth direction changes.
The shuttle lever is conveniently mounted to the left of the steering
column. It is simply moved back or forward to change direction. A neutral
position is also provided. The modular design enables New Holland to offer
Dual Command Transmission with an additional 12 creeper speeds. This provides
a total of 44 forward speeds. When it comes to versatility, few tractors
match the abilities of the TND and TNS Series.
Choose the system to match the Application
Available in two and four
wheel drive models, the TND Series deliver excellent performance.
Offered with a choice of mechanical or electro-hydraulically controlled
rear differential locks, a four-wheel drive TND is also offered
with a limited slip or fully locking front differential to suit customer
needs. Four-wheel drive TND front axle differential locks work
automatically in conjunction with the locking rear differential to deliver
maximum traction.
TND models feature New Holland's award winning fully automatic
four-wheel drive management system.
Four-wheel drive is automatically engaged when:
- The rear wheels slip relative to those at the front. In heavy draft
work, maximum traction is delivered without any effort from the operator.
- Both brake pedals are pressed together: This stabilises the tractor
for safety at transport speeds.
- The rear wheels move slower than the front, such as when descending
a slippery slope, providing better control and added security.
Four-wheel drive is automatically disengaged when:
- Forward speed exceeds 24 kph (overridded when the brakes are applied).
- The steering angle exceeds 50 degrees (overriddes in slippery conditions
to allow the front wheels to continue driving and maximise steering
response).
In most applications, drive is transmitted via the rear wheels only. This
will save fuel and wear on the front tyres. A manual override is fitted
to provide TND customers full flexibility. Four-wheel drive can be
locked in or out as required.
The unique new holland SuperSteer front axle delivers truly outstanding
maneuverability. As the front wheels turn, the axle pivots to increase
the effective steering angle to as much as 76 degree. Not only does this
give the TNS tractor a tight turning a tight turning radius, it
works in combination with the automatic four-wheel drive system to reduce
tyre wear.
Versatile PTO & Hydraulics For Every Application
A mechanical hydraulic system
is available on both TND & TNS models. It features New Hollands
proven FlexionBar lower link draft sensing, is simple to operate and benefits
from Lift-O-matic rear linkage control. Uncomplicated but highly effective
lift-O-matic using a single control, will raise and lower an implement
to pre-set levels. Standard hydraulic oil flows on all TND &anp; TNS
models is a generous 46 litres/min. Where additional capacity is required
New Holland can offer the 67 litres/min MegaFlow alternative. Until oil
flow is required, the main hydraulic pump runs at idle, resulting in minimum
power losses and reduced fuel consumption. Up to four double-acting auxiliary
valves can be specified. Each has four position settings - raise, lower,
neutral and float. Two of these valves can be controlled by a single joystick
control.
This enables each valve to be operated independently and simultaneously,
with the operator retaining complete control. The joystick is ideally
suited to multi-functional accessories. It is also fully integrated into
the hydraulic system and provides excellent feedback. Where productivity
and flexibility need to be linked, few tractors will match the versatility
of the TND & TNS Series hydraulics.
Versatile PTO
Offered with standard 540 rpm PTO, TND & TNS models can be
specified with both Economy 540 rpm and 1000 rpm speeds. A ground speed
PTO is also fitted. The ground speed PTO will rotate backwards when the
tractor is reversed. This feature can be used to un-block PTO driven attachments.
The PTO system is engaged by an easy to reach lever which is positioned
to make it difficult for the operator to leave the tractor cab with the
PTO engaged.
Choose the System to match the Application
Both TND & TNS
tractors are offered with EDC, Electronic Draft Control. EDC makes it
easier to get the very best from the tractors not only in draft work but
also when working other mounted implements.
New Holland has arranged the EDC controls in three distinct areas. The
depth setting control knob is mounted separately on the right fender.
Positioned to enable working depth to be adjusted simply and precisely,
the the knob has an adjustable stop setting. Lift-O-matic is placed next
to the differential lock switch.
Both can be operated at the same time. This allows the operator to release
and engage the differentials manually as the implement is raised and lowered.
The setting controls for draft and position control, maximum link height,
maximum depth and the speed of implement drop are all mounted on a panel
at the rear of the right fender. Positioned to be easy to reach in work,
they are also placed to prevent them being altered accidentally.
EDC offers:
- Quick setting of implement lower speed
- Maximum height/depth settings
- Finger tip control
- Lift-O-matic switch to raise and lower implements
Putting the Operator in Comfortable Control
New Holland recognises that
a smaller tractor can be used in applications that are equally as demanding
as those faced by larger machines. A small tractor needs to be just as
quiet and comfortable as larger models. Considerable effort has gone into
the design and manufacture of the TND and TNS Series cab. It provides
a class leading operating environment. All round visibility is excellent
and noise levels are low. But there are other aspects that really make
the TND and TNS models pleasant to work with. The cabs are spacious
and the quality of the fittings and the layout of the controls bring the
cabs specification up to a level normally associated with much larger
machines.
Features include:
- Fully glazed doors
- Color coded controls
- Comprehensive electronic information panel
- Adjustable steering column
- Filtered high pressure ventilation system
- Roof mounted ventilation controls
- Auxiliary electrical outlets
- Implementing cable routing system
- Durable, soft texture fender lining
- Passenger seat
- High quality finish
The cab can also be specified with an opening front window and an air
suspension seat. Purpose designed air conditioning can also be fitted
without altering overall cab height. The TND & TNS Series set
new standards of operator comfort in this class of tractor.
